Kathleen M. Potter, FSA, EA, MAAA, FCA Kathy is a Principal in the Richmond office of Mercer. She has over twenty-five years of experience in assisting clients with design, funding and administration issues related to their employee benefit programs. Kathy has worked with both public and private sector clients ranging in size from 100 to 100,000 employees. Experience - Kathy is an actuary specializing in assisting employers with active and retiree medical benefit plans including accounting, plan design, strategy and funding. She has also worked with other employee benefit plans such as Long Term Disability (LTD), life insurance and Short Term Disability (STD). In addition to assisting employers with health care needs, Kathy has extensive experience in the design, funding, and administration of defined benefit pension plans. She was associated with the retirement practice in the Richmond office of Mercer and worked for Towers Watson in their Washington, DC office before returning to Richmond to work with Wells Fargo. Education - Kathy received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Utica College, graduating summa cum laude. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
